Art Classes: Questions & Answers
Everything parents and adult students usually ask before the first class at Studio Palette in Sacramento.
What ages do you teach?
The annual program is for children and teens ages 5–18, in age groups 5–7, 8–10, 11–13 and 14–18. Adults join our summer classes and master classes.
How much are art classes?
$200 a month for one two-hour class a week, or $400 a month for two classes a week. All materials are included.
How long are classes, and when do they run?
Each class is two hours, with two short 15-minute breaks. Classes run Monday to Thursday, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, and Friday, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
How big are the groups?
6–8 students, so the teacher can help everyone individually.
What language are classes taught in?
Classes are taught in English and Russian.
Are art materials included?
Yes. Professional materials for every class are included in tuition. You do not need to buy a supply list.
Is there a free trial class?
Yes. Every new student can attend one free trial class. A parent or guardian comes to the first visit for students under 18.
What happens at the first visit?
The parent or guardian completes the enrollment forms. The teacher meets the student, looks at their interests and experience, and recommends a group.
When does the annual program run?
September to May: one class a week, eight modules.
Do you have summer classes?
Yes, for ages 5–8, 9–18 and adults 18+. Dates and prices are published on the Summer Art Classes page.
What if we miss a class?
Tell the studio before the class, and the student can make it up in another group with an open seat. You can book or move a makeup up to 24 hours before it starts.
Do you accept charter school funds?
Yes. Studio Palette is an approved vendor for participating charter schools, at $45 per class. Check that your school is on our list.
How can I pay?
By card online in your family account, in cash at the studio, or by Zelle, Venmo or Cash App. Charter schools pay through their own system.
Does my child need an account?
No. Students under 18 do not have their own accounts. A parent or guardian has one family account for all their children. Students 18 and older can have their own.
